Jimmy Duchateau proves that John Denver is more than ‘Annie’s Song’, ‘Calypso’, ‘Country Roads’ and ‘Leaving on a Jetplane’ in this new theatre concert. Without dressing up – okay, a western shirt – but with a suitcase full of anecdotes, his beautiful voice, his guitar and a fantastic band, he brings an ode to his great hero. If Duchateau wants to show something, it is that the American country legend was more than his well-known hits. Of course, they are all featured, but there is also a lot of attention for lesser-known work. And all of that is true to the handwritten scores he received from Lee Holdridge, John Denver’s arranger.
