That John Denver is much more than just Annie’s Song and Leaving on a Jet Plane is something Jimmy Duchateau proves in his new show Thank God I’m A Country Boy!. After four successful years of touring theatres with Country Roads, he returns with a brand-new performance. Together with his band, Jimmy takes the audience on a journey through the life and work of one of the greatest country singers of all time.

Through stories, memories and music, the audience is immersed in the world of John Denver. Familiar hits like Perhaps Love, Calypso, and of course Thank God I’m a Country Boy get a fresh new interpretation, while lesser-known songs are also given a well-deserved spotlight.

“You can’t fake real emotion—it has to come from within,” says Jimmy. Still, he remains faithful to the original sheet music he received from Denver’s arranger, Lee Holdridge.

More than 25 years after his passing, Denver’s music is still as relevant as ever. Jimmy may not be from the same generation, but he has a unique gift for capturing the soul of Denver’s songs. Thank God I’m A Country Boy! is a grand tribute in an intimate setting—full of life lessons and nostalgia.
